FIFA rankings: Argentina take first place in Brazil, Belgium remain fourth

The Red Devils retain their fourth place in the new FIFA rankings, published on Thursday. Argentina takes first place at the expense of Brazil, which falls to 3rd place behind France. Since the last version of the ranking was published after the World Cup on December 22, the Red Devils have played two matches. Under the orders of their new coach Domenico Tedesco, they won the first meeting of their qualifying campaign for Euro 2024, against Sweden (0-3). Belgium then clinched a spectacular victory in a friendly match against Germany in Cologne (2-3). In the new FIFA ranking, the Red Devils, therefore, remain fourth with 1792.53 points. Argentina takes first place for the first time since 2017. With 1840.93 points, the Albiceleste is ahead of France, 2nd with 1838.45 points, and Brazil, which falls two places with 1834.21. The Brazilians pay their loss in a friendly match against Morocco while Argentina beat Panama and Curaçao and France started Euro 2024 qualifying with two victories, against the Netherlands and Ireland. With the exception of the top three, the ranking remains unchanged in the top 10. Behind Belgium, only European teams follow England, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
