List of Mineiro titles: Atlético-MG wins América-MG and wins the 48th state cup

The 109th edition of the Campeonato Mineiro came to an end. Atlético-MG is once again champion after 42 years, beating América-MG in the final, in the two games of the decision. It is the 48th state title of the Rooster, the biggest winner of the State.

Played since 1915, the Campeonato Mineiro has been won by only seven clubs: América-MG, Atlético-MG, Caldense, Cruzeiro, Ipatinga, Siderúrgica and Villa Nova-MG.

Atlético, for the third time in history, won a fourth championship. He had been champion four times in a row between 1952 and 1955 (he was five times in 1956) and between 1978 and 1981 (he was even six times with the titles in 1982 and 1983). This last sequence was the last tetra recorded in Mineiro among all participants.

*In 1932, Atlético won the Liga Mineira de Esportes Terrestres (LMDT) title, while Estate won the Associação Mineira de Esportes Geraes (AMEG).

**In 1956, the title of boss of Minas Gerais was split among Atlético and Cruzeiro. On that event, the last occurred in the best of three games. Nonetheless, data arose that protector Laércio, a Galo player, couldn't work since he had not finished the obligatory military activity, as indicated by current regulation. As he had been placed in the finals, Cruzeiro documented an allure requesting the focuses from the subsequent game, which had finished in a tie. The lawful battle went on until 1959, when the FMF attempted to plan another match, yet the clubs didn't acknowledge it and chose to share the title.
